Debra Sina is a monastery in the highlands of Eritrea near Keren in the Anseba Region. It is the site of a pilgrimage by Eritrean Orthodox believers each year in June. The pilgrimage centers on a church above the village where a vision of Mary was said to have been seen by shepherd girls beneath a large boulder. The church is built adjacent to and over the rock where the vision was seen.

The pilgrimage includes thousands of ordinary Eritrean believers camping for one night in the village of Debra Sina, singing, drumming, chanting, and celebrating Mary.

Day 01- Arrivals

Arrive at Asmara International airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight in Asmara.

Day 02 - Asmara -Keren

A drive from Asmara to the town of Keren, the second-largest city, situated at 91 kilometers to North West of Asmara takes a gradual descent to an altitude of 1390 meters. It has a moderate climate. The fine tarmac road, built by the Italians is like a hairpin bend curved out from mountainous plateaus. At 68 kilometers from Asmara, visitors will turn to the right to visit the famous Debresina Monastery. The shrine is carved out from a solid rock. However, there is an extension of the Modern church. Visitors will continue their journey to Keren. Overnight in Keren

Day 03 – Keren Hagaz Asmara

In the morning they will visit Keren city, especially the camel market if it is Monday. They will also visit the Commonwealth and Italian war cemeteries. The famous Mariam De’Arit a church of the Madonna inside a Baobab tree is spectacular. After breakfast, they will drive to Hagaz some 25 kilometers from Keren towards the Tessenei road in the North. Hagaz town is famous for its wine production in its Grape field. There is also a technical college in Hagaz. Then Visitor was transported back to Asmara in the afternoon.

Late in the evening transfer to the airport for their bon voyage.
