Day 01: Arrival

Arrive at Asmara International Airport and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight in Asmara

Day 02: Asmara City Tour

Asmara, the capital of Eritrea is the largest City. Laying at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level the City has a year-round pleasant climate at a range of 18-25 Celsius. Even during the summertime, Asmara has an enjoyable climate. The modern city of Asmara was created by the Italians between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th Century.

The city’s elegant streets and the adjoining promenade are comfortable for day or night walking. The city now accommodates more than 400 Art Deco buildings officially recognized by UNESCO. The city maintains its cleanliness, which is commended by many visitors.

One of the attractive features of Asmara, in particular, and the country in general is that it is the safest place to enjoy. One would feel as if one is in Rome when touring Asmara. Many Italians used to call it “Asmara Bella” meaning “Asmara the beautiful”.Overnight in Asmara.

Day 03: City Tour - Keren

Visitors will enjoy the Monday camel and other livestock market. Visitors would also visit the Italian and Common Wealth war cemeteries. Keren is well known for the fiercest battles that went on between the Commonwealth and the Italian forces in 1941. The fall of Keren in the hands of the Common Wealth advancing army signaled the end of an era of Italian occupation in Eritrea.

Visitors will also visit the famous Mariam Dearit temple curved out from a Baobab tree. Keren is also well known for the citrus fruits like Guava, Orange, Papaya, and mango trees that it produces . Overnight in Keren.

Day 04: VISIT HALIB MENTEL

Keren and its environs are inhabited by Tigre and Billen Tribes. Mostly they live in huts. One would enjoy their traditional dance and their unparalleled hospitality. The tribes are mostly farmers and pastoralists. The Italians have so many pictures of the beautiful ladies of the Billen during the end of the 19th and early 20th centuries. DAY 05: VISIT ELABERET

Visitors will drive 28 kilometers towards Asmara and turn to the east for a 15-kilometer drive towards the famous shrine of St.Mary church of Debresina where there is the rock-hewn church. The purpose however is to observe the cultural living way of the Tigre and Anseba People.

There are basic similarities between the Tigre and Billentribes. In the afternoon the visitors will return to Keren. Meanwhile, visitors will have the opportunity to see the famous agricultural concession owned by the legendary Italian farmer “Denadai” which once was a hub of exportable citrus fruits to the Middle East. There was also dairy farming owned by the same farmer. The Denadai farm was famous for its long-lasting bottled Milk.

Day 06: KEREN-ASMARA

following a memorable stay in Keren returning to Asmara will require the visitors to start driving in the early morning hours. The gradual ascending toward the highlands will make one feel as if one is being airlifted. The hairpin turning of the curved out of the mountains is such spectacular scenery. In about 2-3 hours’ drive, visitors will reach Asmara.

Later in the evening, the visitors will be transferred to the airport for their bon voyage back home. End of Tour Activity
