The Kunama (koo-NAH-mah), who were historically known as the "Baza" and "Bazen" by their neighbors, are a Nilo-Saharan ethno linguistic group who inhabit the Gash-Barka region of Eritrea. They make up around 2% of the Eritrean population, and are mostly sedentary farmers. Depending on the source, their name is thought to mean "those whom I call people" or "natural".
Day 01- Arrivals
Arrive at Asmara International airport and transfer to Hotel. Overnight in Asmara.
Day 02 – Kunnama Community.
A breath taking drive from 2400 meters above sea level, Asmara, to covers a distance of 238 kilometers. All the way it is asphalt road. It is a comfortable drive. Driving Early at about 05:00 hrs from Asmara will be an ideal time. The traveler can have breakfast in Keren. 91 kilometers. It has a moderate climate. The fine tarmac road,
built by the Italians is like a hairpin bend curved out from mountainous plateaus.After enjoying a great stay with the community of Kunnama visitor returns back to Asmara city and later in the evening transfer to airport for their bon voyage.
